01Adopted at Four Months
An AKC registered, tricolor pure-bred girl who arrived at four months old and immediately reorganized the entire household around herself. We didn't choose the chaos — the chaos chose us.
A bull terrier named Indigo · AKC tricolor pure breed
This is how a four-month-old tricolor bull terrier made us feel every single day — from full-speed zoomies to dead asleep in two seconds flat.
"Zoomies to sleeping in 2 seconds. Every. Single. Time."
— Indigo's humans
Four chapters of life with a bull terrier. Numbered, because we had to impose some order somewhere.
An AKC registered, tricolor pure-bred girl who arrived at four months old and immediately reorganized the entire household around herself. We didn't choose the chaos — the chaos chose us.
One hundred miles per hour through the living room, parkour off the couch, then — mid-stride — unconscious. Zero to zoomies to snoring in roughly two seconds. Science cannot explain it. We just document it.
Her brother is a Roman Rottweiler the size of a small horse. She bugs him to actual tears every day — stealing his bed, his toys, his dignity. He lets her. That's what little sisters are for.
When the chaos battery finally dies, you will find her wrapped completely around her favorite human like a warm, snoring scarf. This is the soulfully amazing part. It's worth every chewed shoe.
SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE
145 pounds of Roman Rottweiler patience. Outweighs Indigo four to one. Has never once won an argument with her. This site is technically his emotional support project.
BREED INTELLIGENCE
The bull terrier's downface 'egg-shaped' skull is found in no other dog breed on Earth. One look and you can never mistake them.
Bred in 1830s England by James Hinks, who refined the breed into the gentleman's companion nicknamed the 'White Cavalier'.
Spuds MacKenzie, Bullseye the Target dog, and General Patton's beloved Willie — bull terriers have been icons for a century.
21–22 inches tall, 50–70 pounds of dense, egg-headed muscle. Built like a tiny tank, moves like a caffeinated rocket.
A solid lifespan for a medium breed — over a decade of zoomies, side eyes, and velcro cuddles if kept fit and loved.
AKC recognizes white, brindle, fawn, red, black and tricolor coats. Indigo wears the tricolor — black, white and tan — like couture.
We love Indigo beyond reason. We will also tell you the truth. Both things can be soulfully amazing.
THE PROS
Certified Clowns
No breed makes you laugh harder. Their comedic timing is genuinely suspicious.
Fiercely Loyal Velcro Dogs
They bond for life and want to be physically attached to their humans at all times.
Adventure-Ready Athletes
Sturdy, muscular, and always up for a hike, a run, or an unplanned sprint through the house.
Low-Maintenance Coat
Short, sleek, easy-care fur. A quick weekly brush and they're runway ready.
THE CONS
Stubborn as Granite
They hear you. They understand you. They are simply choosing otherwise. Training takes patience and consistency.
Boredom = Demolition
A bored bull terrier will redecorate your home via chewing. Exercise and mental work are non-negotiable.
Needs Early Socialization
They can be dog-selective with a strong prey drive. Socialize early, supervise always.
Not for Absent Owners
They hate being alone and can develop separation anxiety. Some lines face deafness, skin and kidney issues — choose breeders carefully.
